The City of Malaperis is situated at the mouth of the Gottlieb river. In the 1700's early explorers established Fort Malaperis at the mouth of the river. The city built up around the fort over time. In the mid 1900's a group of educators from around the world establisehd a university in the northern section of town.
The city also sits at the feet of the Dayton Hills. Local officials were looking for a bypass of the city to the north, but building it north of the Dayton Hills would be too far for any benefit, but the location of the Baer Creek runs through the only good location closer in. Portions of Q-1 have been upgraded to a motorway through this area, but ongoing environmental concerns have stalled any further upgrades.
There used to be a bridge over the Gottlieb river on Colin Way. This bridge was demolished due to obsolescence.
I've decided on a numbering system for the roads in Quebertia, will start implemnting it in the near future. Every route will start with a Q. Odd numbered routes go east-west, with the lowest numbers starting in the west , and even numbered routes will go north-south with lowest numbered routes in the south.
A bypass will get a -A at the end
A spur will get a -B at the end
The mainline routes will have no additional lettering unless route is a toll, in that case a -T will be appended to the end
For example, if a business spur for Q-1 is ever created, it will be called Q-1-B
This is the numbering of the national routes. I include the Q in the route number to distinguish national routes from local routes.
I'm going to implement this system soon. Any thoughts would be welcome
