Hi again! So I have something actually started a beach city in the northern peninsula of Fyler Island, in Western Commonia. Got the coast down, made a nice sandy area. But how do you intersect two roads? I'm fairly sure you place a node where you want the intersection and plop in the presets. But whenever I try to put a single node on an already existing way the node acts as connected with the way, and the node will disappear when I press escape. How do I place the node to have it independently of the way? Do I even have to do that? If not, how do I do it?
Anyway, even though I may be a big noob at this software, I am not a noob at the geofiction hobby itself. I have had a fascination with geography as far back as I can remember. I started drawing my own fictional maps around the age of 7. Gradually they became more and more intricate. One day I was watching a youtube video by some really small vlogger talking about his fictional country. In the comments someone linked to opengeofiction.net, and I checked it out and signed up.
In the future, I plan to claim a small cold country in the south, most likely settled by Scandmark or some other power. It is a rich fuse between the culture of the colonizers and the natives. The name could be Aeutia or Navanuq. There will be a few cities with a population of 200,000 or so, but most of the nation would be tiny villages. It will be an analogue to Iceland, Greenland and Northern Canada.
Any advice with my voyage in mapping? Say so in the comments.
