So I have been mapping roads and putting in villages, towns and cities into Utterland with not an awful lot of detail. Yes, I have got some topography put in as well, with hills and rivers and even an estuary and a port. but it is all a bit sketch-mappy. The only places with some degree of detail are my cities of Welle, Solsburg and Galmosen - and even these are still sketchy. I know I was anxious to fill the place, and make it look like a real country. But I'm miles away from that, and I realise that this was one of the pitfalls of OGF. The more sensible approach is probably to stick to one project at a time, one town or city, and work that up into high detail. Patience, it would seem, is a virtue I'll need to reacquire.
Happy mapping.
