Weekly Word; The Introduction
Hello hello!
So we've slightly gone off the tracks for the Weekly Word, and I feel it's because we're mainly relying on members to take control of posting, responding, picking the winner, etc. Whilst it is nice to have a more community feel, I think that you need to have a strong and stable leader for the weekly running of it. So I'm gonna take an attempt at spearheading the whole thing, so welcome to the Pheonix Edition of the Weekly Word!
If you haven't come across this game before, I'll explain it to you in a quick fashion, any more questions you can direct to me or down in the responses.
The game runs for an entire week from Monday to Monday, roughly Midnight to Midnight UTC, though I might be a bit lenient for late entries by a couple hours. Each week, we will give you one or two words that will make you think out of the box in mapping something that is outstanding or unique.
I'll also attempt to give you a few OGF examples of any words that are used.
NOW here is the twist in format for the Pheonix Edition!
Every entry HAS to be accompanied by 1 or 2 words that you would like to see in the next Weekly Word. I will then pick my favorite prompt for the next Weekly Word. So in reality, you can win twice on a Weekly Word if your prompt for next week is picked!
So let us continue with this week's competition, your word you will be working with is
MINOR
Not everything that needs to be mapped are large Olympic sized stadiums, or Intercontinental airports, or massive multi-lane highways spanning an entire country.
There's something to be said about the mapping of smaller items, it gives a sense of scale, location, economy, all sorts! So your challenge for this week will be to map something small, it could be a stadium or sports pitch, local or regional airports, country-roads, for example.
You can really use anything you want. A small locally owned amusement park, a village train station, use relations to map out a small chain of restraunts, whatever you want is all yours, just make it "small". To see what sort of items I mean, you can find an example of all 3 below!
Be as detailed as you want with it, there is multiple things that I will be "judging" on. Your deadline is;
25 September 12:00 Midnight UTC
And remember to put your selected word/s for the next Weekly Word with your entry, for what is basically controlling the week's competition in your favor.
Keep Up The Mapping, and I can't wait to see what you all map, good luck!
